WhatsApp has recently introduced a new feature that enhances the app’s privacy and security. Secret code allows users to add an extra layer of security to locked chats by setting a unique password different from their phone unlock code.

Additionally, the new feature also offers the ability to hide the Locked Chats folder from the chatlist, making it only discoverable by typing the secret code in the search bar. This feature is optional, giving users the choice to have locked chats appear in the chatlist or not.

Furthermore, the update also simplifies the process of locking chats by allowing users to long press on a chat to lock it, eliminating the need for extra taps.

WhatsApp has started rolling out the new secret code feature, but it may take some time to be available globally. Users who do not see the feature yet are advised to be patient.
