Spotify is currently testing a new feature that allows users to create playlists with the help of AI-generated prompts. For example, users can give commands like “Fill the silence with background cafe music” or “Explore a niche genre like Witch House” to create customized playlists.
The AI feature is not available to everyone yet, as it is still in the testing phase. While Spotify has confirmed the testing, they have not provided further details about the technology or a launch timeline. Additionally, it is possible that this feature could be limited to paid users.
The feature can be accessed from the “Your Library” tab in Spotify’s app, where users tap on the plus (+) button to access the AI playlist feature. Users can then input their prompts and commands, and the AI will process the request to create a customized playlist.
In a similar move, YouTube Music has also introduced an AI playlist art generator feature, allowing users to create customized playlist art using generative AI. However, YouTube Music may need to expand its AI capabilities to catch up with Spotify.
