Bell Internet Services Restored After Road Construction Incident

Good news for Bell customers in Newmarket and Holland Landing, Ontario! Internet services are back online after a temporary disruption caused by road construction on Yonge Street. Here are the key details you need to know:

– Connectivity was lost on Tuesday due to fibre cables being cut during the construction.
– Bell worked diligently to restore services, with the majority of customers now back online.
– Patricia Garcia, Bell’s manager of public affairs, expressed gratitude for customers’ patience during this time.
– While details on compensation for affected customers and the extent of the damage are pending, Bell aims to have services fully operational by tonight.

The outage began on April 2, when a major fibre cable was severed during road construction north of Davis Drive. Jacqueline Michelis, Bell’s senior communications manager, confirmed ongoing repair efforts to address the issue promptly.

Bell’s repair teams have been working around the clock to resolve the situation. Service restoration is expected between 10 p.m. on Thursday and 2 a.m. on Friday.

As part of the restoration process, Bell deployed service vehicles to Yonge Street near Upper Canada Mall. The incident occurred as part of The Regional Municipality of York’s road-widening project necessitating utility relocation along Yonge Street.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work diligently to ensure seamless connectivity for all our valued customers. Stay tuned for further updates as we continue to prioritize your internet service needs. Thank you for choosing Bell – your trusted telecommunications provider in Canada!
