Top iPhone News and Updates in Canada – Gurman’s Telecommunications Blog

Apple is rumored to be working on a more affordable version of its Vision Pro headset, aiming to maintain key features while lowering costs. The new model may require tethering to an iPhone or Mac for certain functionalities.

Currently in the prototyping stage, Apple’s Vision Products Group is working on the project under the codename N107 with plans to launch it by the end of next year. One of the main challenges faced by the development team is finding ways to reduce costs without compromising essential features.

To achieve a price range of $1,500 to $2,000 USD (approximately $2,050 to $2,700 CAD), Apple is exploring options to decrease processing power requirements. The N107 headset might rely on tethering to an iPhone or Mac, reducing the need for standalone components.

While there have been reports of a second-generation Vision Pro model in development, recent updates suggest that Apple is focusing on the more affordable alternative instead. The successor model, known as N109, is expected to be lighter and more comfortable than the current version.

Although work on Vision Pro 2 continues, it has taken a backseat as resources are directed towards the cheaper model. The second-generation device may not hit the market until at least 2026. In the meantime, Apple Vision Pro will be available in Canada starting July 12th, with prices starting at $4,999 and reaching up to $7,300 CAD for different storage capacities.

Stay tuned for more updates on Apple’s innovative products and exciting developments in the telecommunications industry!
