Access Nova Scotia Health Records Anywhere with Our Mobile App – Phones Canada Blog

Nova Scotians now have easy access to their health information through the YourHealthNS mobile app, available for both iOS and Android devices. This initiative follows a successful pilot program involving 15 family doctors and seven nurse practitioners at six clinics, leading to the province-wide availability of electronic health records.

According to Health and Wellness Minister Michelle Thompson, providing access to healthcare information is essential for empowering individuals to take control of their health. Dr. Jennifer Lange, a family physician, also emphasized the importance of electronic health data in making healthcare more accessible for everyone.

Key features of the YourHealthNS app include:

– Access to records of hospital or clinic visits, including provider details, appointment types, dates, and times.
– Information on IWK Health visits, VirtualCareNS appointments, hospital stays, and emergency visits with location and reasons for each visit.
– Viewing medication details, lab results, and diagnostic imaging scans such as MRIs, CTs, and X-rays with specific information on body parts scanned.
– Availability of diagnostic imaging info within 14 days after being received by the ordering healthcare provider.

This digital health initiative is part of a broader effort that includes virtual care services and the implementation of the One Person One Record system. Users aged 16 and above can securely log in to view their health records via the mobile app. This convenient access eliminates the need for phone calls or administrative tasks when checking medical information.
