Users have recently noticed that X (formerly known as Twitter) has started using interactions, inputs, and post results to train Grok’s AI model. This feature is turned on by default, but users have the option to turn it off if they prefer.
This new setting related to data sharing with Grok has caught the attention of social media platform users. Initially spotted by @EasyBakedOven, this setting was quietly introduced without any public announcement from X. It can be found within the Privacy and Safety settings under a dedicated page for the X AI platform Grok.
Within the ‘Data Sharing’ section, users can find an option to “Allow your posts along with your interactions, inputs, and results with Grok to be utilized for training and fine-tuning.” The setting also mentions that these interactions may be shared with the service provider xAI for these purposes.
Fortunately, users can easily disable this setting on the web version of X. Additionally, there is an option to ‘Delete conversation history,’ which likely erases any data used for Grok. To access these settings, simply go to ‘Settings’ and then ‘Privacy and Safety.’ Scroll down until you locate the ‘Grok’ menu. It’s important to note that turning off this setting is also possible on the mobile version of X.
X has been expanding its features since introducing the Grok AI Chatbot earlier this year. Premium users not only have access to basic chatbot capabilities but also benefit from Grok’s news summarization feature. Moreover, X recently rolled out a ‘More About This Account’ function that uses AI to provide a brief summary of a user in just a few sentences.
