Apple has officially announced that its next event will be held next month, where it is expected to unveil its new smartphone lineup, the iPhone 15, along with new watches. The event, titled Wonderlust, will take place on September 12 at Apple Park and will be live-streamed on apple.com and the Apple TV app.
The invite for the event showcases an apple in the colors blue and gray, which are rumored to be the new hues for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra. In terms of design, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are said to feature titanium edges instead of stainless steel, making them lighter than their predecessors. Additionally, the mute switch might be replaced with a programable Action button.
Performance-wise, the Pros are expected to sport a new 3nm chipset, which will offer improved speed and power efficiency compared to the current models. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is rumored to come with a periscope camera that will provide a greater zooming range, potentially making it the best camera phone of 2023.
As for the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus, they are said to feature the Dynamic Island and a 48MP main camera. The entire lineup is likely to have USB-C ports, slimmer bezels, softer corners, and larger camera bumps. While the standard models are expected to maintain last year’s pricing, the premium variants could be priced up to $200 higher. The phones are reported to hit the shelves on September 22.
In addition to the new iPhones, the Apple 2023 event might also introduce the Watch Series 9 and the second Watch Ultra. These new wearables are expected to bring incremental upgrades, with the most notable improvement being a new chip.
