AT&T compensates users for roaming problems while T-Mobile and Verizon lag behind

If you’ve recently traveled outside the US, you might have experienced some frustrating cell service issues. But don’t worry, the roaming problems that were reported earlier this week have finally been resolved.

AT&T has taken a proactive step by offering financial compensation to its affected subscribers. You can expect to receive credits for daily fees for the period of June 26 to June 28. If you don’t see these credits in the next couple of days, feel free to reach out to AT&T directly for assistance.

Unfortunately, Verizon and T-Mobile customers are currently not receiving any compensation for the roaming issues. Hopefully, they will follow AT&T’s lead and provide free credits to their users who were impacted by the outage.

The global outage was attributed to a third-party vendor called Syniverse, who in turn blamed a peering partner outside of its network for the disruption. While it’s unclear who was at fault, the important thing is that the issue has been resolved and was not caused by a cyberattack.

AT&T should be commended for taking quick action in compensating its users. Now it’s up to Verizon and T-Mobile to step up and do the same for their customers.

Overall, it’s good news that the roaming issues are behind us now. And rest assured, Phone Canada will keep you updated on any further developments in the telecommunications industry.
