– The settlement has been approved by the court and the claims period is now open.
– To file a claim, visit smartphoneperformancesettlement.ca and click on “submit a claim” to provide your information.
– Eligible claimants will receive a confirmation email once their claim has been submitted.

The allegations suggest that Apple’s software updates caused certain iPhones to age prematurely, degrade, and experience unexpected shutdowns. While Apple has denied any wrongdoing, they have agreed to settlement funds ranging from $11,137,500 CAD to $14,427,500 CAD to address these claims.

To file a successful claim:

1. Provide your name and mailing address.
2. Submit your iPhone serial number.
3. Declare under oath that you owned one of the affected iPhones and experienced performance issues after the software update.

If you’re unsure where to find your iPhone serial number, simply go to Settings > General > About on your device or check the original box. Remember, claims must be submitted by September 2, 2024.
