Phones Canada brings you exciting news from Samsung this September. A software update for Galaxy Buds 2 Pro users and owners of select Samsung Smart TVs will enhance their audio capabilities. Once updated, you can connect multiple pairs of Buds 2 Pro to a compatible TV, such as Samsung 2023 Neo QLED 8K and 2023 MICRO LED, transforming it into a modern radio station. Currently, you can connect up to two pairs of earphones.
Samsung announced that these updates will expand the LE Audio capabilities to Samsung TVs with Auracast broadcast audio technology. LE Audio, which stands for “Low Energy Audio,” operates on Bluetooth Low Energy radio and offers numerous exciting possibilities. Auracast, a new Bluetooth capability, enables enhanced broadcasting and offers assistive listening. According to the official Bluetooth site, “LE Audio will also add broadcast audio, enabling an audio source device to broadcast one or more audio streams to an unlimited number of audio sink devices.”
Samsung has been incorporating LE Audio innovative technologies in its products. Galaxy smartphone users already benefit from the 360 Audio Recording feature introduced in the Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 models. Some Galaxy Book 3 devices also offer improved gaming and multimedia experience with reduced latency and clearer audio, thanks to this audio technology.
Auracast opens up various potential use cases, including augmented or assistive listening in theaters or lecture halls for individuals who require hearing assistance. It also allows you to share playlists from your smartphone while running with friends. Samsung even claims that it allows multi-language support without the need for translation devices, as different language interpretations can be sent via different channels.
Junho Park, VP and Head of Galaxy Ecosystem Product Planning Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics, expressed the company’s commitment to delivering seamless and extended experiences across its devices. He stated, “LE Audio is a perfect example that shows our commitment to connected experiences across our entire library of devices, and how Samsung is introducing new capabilities and technologies that bring them all together.”
More announcements about Samsung’s connected experiences are expected to be revealed at the IFA event, taking place from September 1-5 in Berlin. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Phones Canada and Samsung.
