We recently learned that the OnePlus 12R, a budget-friendly flagship alternative to the OnePlus 12, will be reaching the US and other parts of the world in addition to India. This is great news for those looking for a more affordable but still high-performance smartphone option.
The announcement came from OnePlus co-founder and CEO Pete Lau during a “Fireside Chat” video conversation. He also hinted at what’s coming in 2024, so it’s an exciting time for OnePlus fans.
The OnePlus 12R is expected to feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It will also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, a step behind the OnePlus 12’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 but still a significant improvement over previous models. The battery is rumored to have a capacity of 5,500mAh with 100W charging capabilities.
In terms of photography, the OnePlus 12R is expected to have a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main sensor with OIS, an 8 MP wide-angle lens, and a 32 MP sensor for 2x optical zoom. Additionally, it is anticipated to have 4K 60fps video recording capabilities.
As for the price, the OnePlus 12R is rumored to be priced around $500, making it a great option for those looking for flagship-level features without breaking the bank. The release of the OnePlus 12R is expected to coincide with the US release of the OnePlus 12, set to happen on January 23, 2024.
