Google is known for producing some of the best phones in the market, and I can personally attest to that as I use the Pixel 6a as my daily driver. The unique features such as extra camera modes and advanced assistant features make the Pixel a top-notch Android experience. While I opted for a mid-range phone, I can confidently say that the flagship models are where it’s really at. That’s why we are all excited for the upcoming Pixel 8.
What’s impressive about Google is that they didn’t keep us waiting for unofficial leaks. They leaked a render of the phone and even uploaded a teaser video that reveals some juicy details about the next flagship phone. You can check out the teaser video below.
Save the date! The Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will be officially revealed on October 4 at 10 AM ET during the Made By Google event of 2023. This is also when pre-orders will become available, so start saving up if you’re interested.
Now, let’s talk about what the teaser video reveals about the Pixel 8. Firstly, we get a glimpse of a Pink variant of the phone, which falls between “Rose Gold” and “Coral” in terms of color. There is also a white variant with silver trimmings, giving it a sleek ceramic vibe.
In terms of design, the Pixel 8 isn’t a major departure from the design philosophy of the Pixel 6. There aren’t many drastic changes that separate the Pixel 7 from the Pixel 8. However, the Pro models do have some notable differences. The Pixel 7 Pro had a lens separated from the main camera array and a single LED flash cutout. In contrast, the Pixel 8 Pro combines all cameras into a single setup and features two vertically positioned cut-outs on the right.
As for the purpose of the second cut-out, we can only speculate for now. It could be a sensor that enhances the overall camera performance of the Pixel 8 Pro. We’ll have to wait until October 4 for the official confirmation.
During the Made By Google event, we can expect to learn more about the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. We’ll finally know what these phones have under their hoods. Additionally, there may be announcements regarding the next iteration of the Pixel Watch and Pixel Buds.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Pixel 8!
