Google is reportedly upping the ante with its Pixel Watch, exploring new methods for users to keep track of time.

According to reports from 9to5Google, a Reddit user discovered a new Vibration watch option on their Pixel Watch 2. This feature allows the watch to tell the time through vibrations. When the screen is on, users can simply tap the watch face with two fingers to check the time – one tap for the hour and two taps for the minute.

Here are some key details about this exciting new feature:

– Two vibration choices: Digits and Terse
– Digits: Long vibe for 10 and short vibe for one
– Terse: Time rounds off to the nearest quarter and short vibe for every 15 minutes
– Potential for up to five vibe speeds for personalized experience

Since not many users have spotted this new feature on their Pixel Watch, it appears that Google is conducting A/B testing through a server-side push. To check if it’s available on your Pixel Watch 2, simply go to Settings > Vibrations. However, even if you see the option, chances are it won’t work just yet.

This new feature presents a cool way to check the time without glancing at your watch, especially in situations where you don’t want to light up the screen, such as during meetings or in movie theaters. Apple Watch has a similar feature called “Taptic Time,” which even provides a Morse Code readout.

As of now, it’s unclear whether this new vibration feature will be exclusive to the Pixel Watch 2 or if it will also be available for the first-gen Pixel Watch. Given that this feature has recently emerged, it seems likely that Google might include it in the March 2024 Pixel Feature Drop. However, we’ll have to wait for further updates. Keep an eye out!

Google Enhances Pixel Watch with Vibration Time-Telling Feature Smartwatches have come a long way from just displaying the time; they now offer various innovative ways to check it.
