\u2013 In the past few years, there has been a steady increase in the percentage of Android users switching to iPhone.
\n\u2013 Most Android users who switch to iPhone are male and have a lower income compared to existing iPhone users.
\n\u2013 Many of these new iPhone buyers opt for legacy models to save money, but a surprising number also go for the latest Pro or Pro Max models.<\/p>\n
For example, in the last 12 months leading up to December 2023:
\n\u2013 29% of Android switchers purchased the iPhone SE 3, iPhone 12, and iPhone 13\/iPhone 13 mini models.
\n\u2013 Interestingly, only 21% of existing iPhone owners upgraded to these models during the same period.
\n\u2013 While 51% of Android switchers bought an iPhone 14 series model in 2023, 56% of current iPhone users upgraded to the latest models like the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, and more.<\/p>\n
CIRP also found that:
\n\u2013 37% of Android switchers opted for an iPhone 14 or iPhone 15 Pro series model.
\n\u2013 The number was slightly higher at 43% for existing iPhone users upgrading to these models.<\/p>\n
So why do many Android users starting with lower-priced iPhones? CIRP suggests that it could be because they are used to lower-priced Android phones and find that legacy or non-Pro iPhones fit their budget.<\/p>\n
Additionally, CIRP notes that some Android switchers may not feel the need for all the latest features and upgrades on newer iPhones. For them, simply entering Apple\u2019s ecosystem through iMessage, FaceTime, and AirPods might be enough of an upgrade.<\/p>\n
