Samsung is gearing up to launch its first smart ring, the Galaxy Ring, later this year at the Unpacked event, likely in July. The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona gave us a sneak peek at this upcoming wearable, and now more details are emerging as the launch date approaches.<\/p>\n
The Samsung Galaxy Ring, with the model number SM-Q503, was recently spotted on the FCC database. Here\u2019s what we know so far:<\/p>\n
\u2013 The smart ring will come in sizes ranging from 5 to 12
\n\u2013 Different battery capacities based on the size: 17mAh for sizes 5, 6, and 7; 18.5mAh for sizes 8, 9, 10, and 11; and 22.5mAh for size 12
\n\u2013 Supports Bluetooth LE and Bluetooth 5.4<\/p>\n
Despite its small size, the battery capacity should be sufficient for everyday use. Initial reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Ring could last up to an impressive 9 days on a single charge.<\/p>\n
The FCC listing also provided images of the Galaxy Ring in black shade \u2013 its basic model. However, during MWC earlier this year, our team got a glimpse of all three shades it\u2019s expected to come in.<\/p>\n
Designed as a health tracker, the Galaxy Ring focuses on providing accurate readings for various body measurements. Leaks indicate that it can measure blood flow, includes a built-in ECG for heart rhythm checks, and might support wireless payments.<\/p>\n
While all these features sound exciting, be prepared as leaks suggest that the Galaxy Ring could be priced between $300 to $350 in the US with an additional monthly subscription fee of under $10 for US users.<\/p>\n
