ابق على اتصال في أي مكان مع Android 15: استكشف ميزة المراسلة عبر الأقمار الصناعية

Android 15 may introduce satellite messaging, a feature that allows users to send texts via satellite when regular cell service is unavailable. This new capability could be a game-changer, especially in remote areas where connectivity is limited. Apple already paved the way with Emergency SOS satellite connectivity in the iPhone 14 Pro series back in 2023. Now, it seems Google might be following suit with Android 15.

Recently, Android expert Mishaal Rahman discovered a Satellite Messaging page in the Settings of the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2 release. This exciting addition hints at the possibility of texting via satellite on Android devices in the near future.

Here are some key points to know about this upcoming feature:

– The Satellite Messaging feature will allow users to send and receive text messages through satellites with the right account.
– Your phone will automatically connect to a satellite when regular cellular service is unavailable.
– To ensure a strong connection, it’s recommended to have a clear view of the sky as weather and buildings can affect satellite connectivity.
– You will be able to message anyone, not just emergency services, while connected to a satellite.
– Once you are back within range of a regular mobile network, your phone will seamlessly switch back to cellular connectivity.

But how will current Android phones connect to satellites without additional hardware? It appears that T-Mobile and SpaceX have collaborated on this technology. Through “Direct to Cell,” existing LTE phones can communicate with low-orbit satellites launched by SpaceX’s Starlink constellation.

While there is still much we don’t know about satellite messaging on Android, it’s clear that exciting advancements are on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates as T-Mobile and Google continue to develop this feature for Android 15.
