France Approves Apple’s Software Update for iPhone 12 After Radiation Concerns
A few weeks ago, France decided to temporarily halt the sale of the iPhone 12 within its borders due to concerns about radiation levels emitted by the device. The whole issue began when a French consumer watchdog group raised concerns about the iPhone 12 surpassing safe radiation limits. In response, France’s National Frequency Agency (ANFR) took charge and initiated an investigation.
Apple, on the other hand, remained steadfast in their position, asserting that their devices complied with all safety regulations and that the accusations were unfounded. They even conducted their own tests, claiming that the iPhone 12’s radiation levels were within acceptable international standards.
To settle the dispute, Apple committed to releasing a software update for iPhone 12 devices in France. The French government welcomed this move and stated that once the update was swiftly tested, sales of the 2020-released iPhone 12 could resume.
