يطالب مالك Pixel 6 Pro بالاستدعاء: تواجه Google معضلة استرداد الأموال

Google Pixel 6 Pro Faces Lawsuit Over Overheating Issue

A lawsuit filed by Jennifer Hyatt alleges that the Pixel 6 Pro has a defect that causes it to become unbearably hot. According to Law360 (via Top Class Actions), Hyatt came to this conclusion after going through multiple replacement units, each of which was prone to overheating.

Hyatt believes that Google was aware of the defect and points to an article titled “Help keep your Pixel phone from feeling too warm or hot” on the company’s website as evidence. The plaintiff claims that despite knowing about the defect, Google did not warn consumers about the Pixel 6 Pro’s tendency to overheat and marketed it as though nothing was wrong with the device.

The lawsuit demands that Google run advertisements warning Pixel 6 Pro users about the defect, recall all the handsets, and issue refunds to people who purchased the device. Hyatt seeks to represent Californian consumers who bought the Pixel 6 Pro in the state and accuses Google of violating California’s Consumers Legal Remedies Act, False Advertising Law, Unfair Competition Law, and Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act.

It remains uncertain whether the lawsuit will go to trial or be dismissed by the court. This is not the first time Google has faced legal action over its smartphones; last year, a separate case was filed against Google for misleading claims about the charging capabilities of the Pixel 6 duo.

While Google is known for making excellent smartphones, it may be a bit of a stretch to say that all Pro models had a defect causing them to overheat. However, it’s clear that there are concerns around how responsibly Google handled this issue. We will continue to monitor developments related to this lawsuit and provide updates as they become available.
