Le Mate 60 Pro aurait vendu 1,6 million d'unités en six semaines, tandis que l'iPhone 15 est en difficulté en Chine

According to recent reports from a research firm, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro is experiencing great success in sales. Despite the mysterious origins of its hardware, the Mate 60 Pro has sold an impressive 1.6 million units in just six weeks. This surge in sales has been dubbed a “high-end smartphone renaissance” for Huawei.

In the past two weeks alone, the Mate 60 Pro sold over 400,000 units, coinciding with the launch of Apple’s iPhone 15 in China. However, the iPhone 15 line has not fared as well in the Chinese market. During its first 17 days, the sales of the iPhone 15 were down 4.5% compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 14. Unfortunately, specific figures were not provided by the researchers.

Interestingly, the Mate 60 Pro has been in such high demand that available stock is immediately bought up, giving the impression of perpetual unavailability. Counterpoint senior analyst Ivan Lam noted this phenomenon.

Looking ahead, it is uncertain whether there will be a turnaround for iPhone sales in China. The current government has discouraged the use of Apple devices among officials and state firm employees, making it unlikely that the iPhone 15 will gain much traction in the market. To combat this, Apple is already planning a more appealing iPhone 16 line for next year. Analyst Jeff Pu shared some details about the upcoming iPhone 16 models. The Pro variants will feature a faster 5G modem, Wi-Fi 7, and a new 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens. On the other hand, the non-Pro versions (iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus) will incorporate some of the technologies introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro, such as Wi-Fi 6e.

Interestingly, Pu also revealed that all iPhone 16 models will be powered by chips from the A18 family. These anticipated upgrades are aimed at revitalizing Apple’s presence in China, which remains one of its crucial markets.
