Circle to Search allows users to simply highlight a piece of text or an image on their screen, prompting Google to quickly search for additional information on the web. This feature has gained popularity since its initial launch, gradually rolling out first on last year’s Samsung and Google flagships before reaching other devices like the Pixel 8.
In a surprising turn of events, the Pixel 8 received Circle to Search through a Feature Drop update. Subsequently, this handy tool found its way to the Pixel 6 and 7 series, along with various Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets over the past few months.
Following Google’s promise in March that Circle to Search would soon be available on more devices, users running Android 15 Beta 1.2 are now starting to see this feature appear with a notification encouraging them to try it out. While the rollout on the Pixel Tablet may currently be limited to a select few users, we anticipate that all Pixel Tablet owners will soon be able to enjoy this functionality.
For those with older Samsung devices like the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 3, Circle to Search will be included in the One UI 6.1 update already being distributed in South Korea. This means that global availability is just around the corner for everyone to benefit from this convenient feature.
Stay tuned for more updates on Circle to Search and other exciting developments in telecommunications technology!
