Apple Designates iPhone X, HomePod, and AirPods as ‘Vintage’ – Discover the Latest in Telecommunications at Phones Canada

Apple has officially designated the iPhone X, original HomePod, and first-generation AirPods as “vintage” products, joining the ranks of classic devices like the iPhone 4 and first-generation iPhone SE. Here’s a breakdown of what this means for these iconic Apple products:

– Vintage status: Products are considered vintage when Apple stops selling them for more than 5 and less than 7 years.
– iPhone X: Launched in November 2017 to celebrate the iPhone’s 10th anniversary, the iPhone X was a game-changer with its removal of the physical Home button. It will not receive iOS 18 updates.
– HomePod: The first-generation HomePod debuted in February 2018 as Apple’s smart speaker and digital assistant. It was later succeeded by the HomePod mini and second-generation HomePod in January 2023.
– AirPods: The original AirPods were released in December 2016, paving the way for wireless earbuds dominance. With two refreshes since then and rumors of new models with cameras coming soon.

Once a device is classified as vintage, repairs are only available for up to two more years. Subsequently, it becomes “obsolete,” with repair services discontinued altogether.

Stay tuned for more updates on Apple’s product lineup as they continue to innovate and redefine the tech industry!
