Phones Canada Exclusive: Xiaomi, OnePlus, and iQOO to Lead with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Chipset

Get ready, smartphone enthusiasts! Qualcomm is gearing up to unveil its cutting-edge 3nm smartphone application processor (AP), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, this October. While the official launch is still a few months away, we already have some exciting insights into which phone manufacturers will be at the forefront of this technological leap.

According to renowned leaker Yogesh Brar, Xiaomi has secured exclusive rights for the initial launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. Following Xiaomi, we can expect OnePlus and iQOO to quickly adopt this powerful AP for their upcoming devices.

Here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store for each brand:

Xiaomi: The Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro are slated to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset.
OnePlus: The highly anticipated OnePlus 13 will also feature the cutting-edge technology of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
iQOO: Look out for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 under the hood of the upcoming iQOO 13.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Series: Qualcomm’s flagship silicon will drive the Galaxy S25 Ultra globally, while US and Chinese markets will see the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ equipped with the Exynos 2500 chipset.

It’s important to note that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 AP comes with a notable change that might impact consumers. This chipset is set to be Qualcomm’s most expensive offering yet, as it eliminates low-power efficiency cores. Instead, users can expect a configuration consisting of two big Phoenix CPU cores and six medium Phoenix CPU cores.

Manufactured by TSMC using its advanced second-generation 3nm process node (N3E), the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 promises unparalleled performance and efficiency. Looking ahead, speculation has already begun about which foundry will build Qualcomm’s next-gen Snapdragon chips, including potential dual-sourcing from both TSMC and Samsung Foundry.

Stay tuned as Phones Canada keeps you updated on all things related to Qualcomm’s game-changing technology and its impact on the mobile industry!
