Elon Musk propose de cacher les likes sur X pour la protection des utilisateurs : Telecom News – Phones Canada

Phones Canada is excited to share that X, the popular social media platform, will be making likes private by default for all users. This decision, endorsed by X owner Elon Musk himself, aims to foster more genuine interactions by allowing users to like content without the pressure of public scrutiny.

Haofei Wang, the director of engineering at X, recently announced this upcoming change. Wang emphasized that public likes often discourage users from engaging with content that may be considered controversial or daring. By making likes private, X hopes to eliminate the fear of backlash or damage to one’s online reputation.

While X Premium subscribers already have the option to hide their liked posts, this feature is expected to roll out for all users soon. This enhancement in privacy settings will offer a more secure and personalized experience across the platform.

The current public likes feature has led to some embarrassing moments for celebrities and public figures. Instances like Senator Ted Cruz liking a pornographic video or Samuel L. Jackson accidentally liking explicit content have highlighted the need for greater privacy controls on social media platforms.

Elon Musk has also hinted at further changes by potentially hiding like and repost counts on the main timeline, only displaying view counts instead. Users would then need to click on individual posts to see the number of likes and reposts.

Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting changes coming to X!
