We have received reports that Pixel users who have multiple profiles on their devices are experiencing a recurring storage bug. This issue first appeared back in October 2023 and seems to have resurfaced after the January 2024 Google Play system update.

The bug is causing a range of problems for Pixel users, including the inability to open the camera app, empty screens in the Files app, disappearing screenshots, and unexplained decreases in storage space. Users have taken to Reddit to express their frustration and disappointment with this ongoing issue.

Google has not yet acknowledged the problem, but we are hopeful that they will address it as they did with the previous occurrence. In the meantime, we recommend holding off on installing the January 2024 Google Play system update, especially for Pixel users with multiple profiles, until a fix is implemented. We understand the frustration this may cause and hope for a swift resolution from Google.
