Phones Canada is excited to share that Apple has just released its Public Beta builds for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and more. This release follows Apple’s re-release of iOS 18 beta 3 for developers with a new build. Now, anyone can test these early software versions for free. Here’s how you can install iOS 18 Public Beta on your iPhone:
Step 1: Archive a Backup
- Before installing beta software, always back up your data and files using Finder:
- Connect your device to your computer.
- Open Finder and select your device from Locations in the Finder sidebar.
- Create a backup and click Manage Backups to archive your backup.
Step 2: Turn on Beta Updates
- For devices running iOS 16.4 or later:
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update > Beta Updates.
- Choose the iOS beta you’d like to install.
Note: Your iPhone must be signed in with the same Apple Account used to enroll in the Apple Beta Software Program.
- For devices running iOS 16.3 or earlier:
- From your iPhone, go to beta.apple.com/profile to download the configuration profile.
- Your iPhone will notify you when the profile has been downloaded.
- Open Settings, tap the profile, and follow the onscreen instructions to allow installation.
Step 3: Update Your iOS Device
- Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
- If a beta is available, you can install it from there. If not, you will receive a notification when it is released.
