Google Maps has finally introduced the long-awaited “glanceable directions” feature for Android and iOS devices worldwide. This new addition is designed to make your navigation experience more convenient and safer by providing essential trip information directly to your lock screen.
What are these “Glanceable directions”?
– Glanceable directions offer a quick overview of your journey, including real-time estimated time of arrival (ETA) and turn-by-turn navigation prompts.
– You can track your progress along the route overview without starting full-fledged navigation, perfect for confirming your route or navigating familiar territory.
– Maps will automatically adjust your route if you take a detour, ensuring you stay on track without manual intervention.
The benefits of glanceable directions include:
– Less distraction while navigating, as you won’t need to constantly unlock your phone to check progress.
– Improved safety while driving by making trips more manageable.
