Although the app is still in beta, it is currently available on Android in select countries. YouTube has released it in order to gather feedback from creators and improve the app further. Currently, it is accessible in the United States, France, Singapore, Germany, South Korea, India, United Kingdom, and Indonesia. An iOS version of the app is expected to be released in 2024.
YouTube Create comes packed with various editing capabilities such as transitions, overlays, captioning, text effects, stickers, and voiceover options. While it may not be as advanced as some professional video editors found on the Play Store, like LumaFusion and PowerDirector, it still offers plenty of features to enhance your videos. Additionally, it seamlessly integrates with YouTube’s extensive library of royalty-free music and audio effects, allowing users to add that extra touch to their creations.
Moreover, the app provides user-friendly production tools for creating both long-form and short-form videos in horizontal or vertical formats. Some notable features include a marker to indicate the cutoff point for YouTube Shorts, as well as an auto-generate beat markers tool to help with editing to the beat. Furthermore, the built-in audio cleanup tool is a useful addition for enhancing the production quality of videos. The app also allows for exporting videos in 1080p or 720p quality.
YouTube Create is a promising step forward and can become a valuable tool for new content creators or anyone who prefers quick edits directly from their phones. It will be interesting to see how the app evolves and what new features are added to further attract YouTubers and encourage more content creation.
