Le Galaxy S24 peut-il sauver le marché américain des smartphones en déclin malgré les efforts d'Apple ?

The US smartphone market is seeing some struggles, with a 10 percent decline in sales compared to the same period last year. However, there is hope for a rebound with the release of Samsung’s Galaxy S24 family in February. While Samsung’s newest ultra-high-end handsets became available late last month, they were not enough to push the overall market in a positive direction.

The low-end segment of the market performed below expectations, which may have impacted overall sales. While no specific manufacturers are named for this underperformance, Motorola, TCL, and Samsung are known for their low-cost devices in the US. It’s possible that these companies could have done better in previous months.

On the other hand, the premium and “ultra-premium” segments showed slightly better performance. However, overall upgrade rates are still described as “tepid.”

As expected, Apple continues to dominate the US smartphone market by a significant margin. The iPhone 15 lineup remains popular in both postpaid and prepaid channels. Despite this success, Apple saw its handset sales figures for January fall by “low single digits” compared to last year. Nonetheless, Apple is maintaining relative stability in a market experiencing double-digit declines.

In conclusion, while the US smartphone market faces challenges with declining sales, there is hope for improvement with new device releases from companies like Samsung. Additionally, Apple continues to maintain its position as the top smartphone vendor in the country despite facing some sales declines.
