Motorola’s Moto Tag: FCC Certified item tracker with Bluetooth LE and UWB Support!

Phones Canada is excited to share the latest news about Motorola’s upcoming Moto Tag item tracker. Recently, the FCC filing unveiled some key details about this innovative device, including its model number (XT2445-1) and the fact that it will run on a standard CR2032 button watch battery – making it easy to find replacement cells when needed.

One exciting feature we anticipate with the Moto Tag is its potential support for Google’s Find My Device network. While the FCC certification didn’t confirm this, we predict that the XT2445-1 will indeed work with Find My Network. This network relies on a vast number of Android phones globally to help locate items like the Moto Tag, offering users peace of mind.

Unlike traditional Bluetooth trackers, the Moto Tag will utilize UWB connectivity for enhanced accuracy in tracking items. With UWB technology, users can pinpoint an item’s location within centimeters – a significant improvement over standard Bluetooth trackers. However, it’s worth noting that Google’s Find My Device network currently does not support UWB, so initial tracking may rely on Bluetooth capabilities.

Motorola is gearing up for an event on June 25th where they will unveil their highly anticipated Razr 50 and Razr 50 Ultra foldable clamshell handsets. We expect the Moto Tag to make its official debut during this event. Positioned as a competitor to Samsung’s SmartTag 2, which supports UWB on the Find My Device Network but only for Galaxy devices, the Moto Tag may offer a more affordable alternative. With Samsung pricing their second-generation item tracker at $29.99, we anticipate Motorola setting a competitive price point to attract customers seeking reliable tracking solutions at a lower cost.

Stay tuned for more updates on Motorola’s Moto Tag as we look forward to its official launch alongside the Razr 50 series on June 25th!
