Currently, the iPhone 14 Pro Max weighs 240 grams, while the iPhone 14 Plus weighs 203 grams due to its aluminum chassis. The use of titanium in the iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra will not make them as light as the iPhone 14 Plus since titanium is heavier than aluminum. However, it will still result in a lighter device compared to the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to estimates from 9to5Mac, the iPhone 15 Ultra is expected to weigh 221 grams, making it approximately 8 percent lighter than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The iPhone 14 Pro’s weight is anticipated to decrease from 206 grams to 191 grams, a reduction of almost 7 percent.

While the weight difference may not seem drastic, it is likely to be noticeable considering the frequency of phone usage. Additionally, titanium offers other benefits such as resistance to extreme temperatures and the ability to be anodized, potentially allowing for vibrant colors in the Pro lineup. However, the current information suggests that the iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra will be available in Titan gray, blue, silver, and space gray/black.

Another advantage of titanium is its matte texture, which reduces fingerprint smudges compared to phones with a glossy finish. However, it is important to note that the use of titanium is expected to drive up the price of the iPhone 15 Pro models, potentially resulting in a $200 increase compared to their predecessors.
