Introducing the Xiaomi Watch 2: What to Expect
At the end of September 2023, Xiaomi released the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro, and it certainly turned heads with its inclusion of Wear OS right out of the box. This meant immediate access to Google Wallet, Google Maps, and Google Assistant – a feature that was previously exclusive to Samsung and Google watches at launch. Other smartwatches had to wait months for an update, making this a big deal for tech enthusiasts.
Fast forward less than six months later, and rumors are swirling about the upcoming release of the Xiaomi Watch 2 (notice there’s no “Pro” in the title this time around). This version won’t have a rotating crown like its predecessor, but it’s still packing some impressive features.
Here’s what we know about the Xiaomi Watch 2 so far:
– 1.43-inch AMOLED display
– Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset
– Up to 65 hours of battery life
– Waterproof up to 50 meters (although not intended for swimming)
– Offers over 150 sports modes and health features
– No LTE version, but equipped with Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi, and NFC
– Visually simpler than the Pro version (no crown)
The Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset may sound familiar – it was actually unveiled back in 2022. And if you’re curious about the price point, it’s rumored to be around $215.
