Google Maps Update Adds Weather Information for Android Users
Google Maps has finally rolled out a new feature for Android users that was previously exclusive to iOS. The weather and AQI widget overlay is now available for Android, providing real-time information to users. Here’s what you need to know about the latest update:
– The feature is being rolled out in waves, so keep an eye out for a small rectangular box in the top-left corner of the app
– The box displays the temperature and AQI (air quality index) but can be tapped for more detailed weather information, including a 12-hour forecast
– Tapping on the AQI part of the widget will show the existing Air Quality map layer
– It’s important to note that selecting anything else in the app will cause the weather box to disappear
– While this update has been available to some Android users for a few weeks, it is now expanding its availability, so if you don’t have it yet, expect it to arrive very soon
