Débloquez la magie de la messagerie satellite d'Apple sur iPhone : un guide étape par étape [VIDÉO] – Phones Canada

Apple recently unveiled iOS 18, the newest update to the iPhone operating system, at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) keynote. One of the exciting additions to iOS 18 is Messages via Satellite, a feature that goes beyond emergency communication to allow users to message friends and family directly from the Messages app, even without […]

Key points about Messages via Satellite:

– Users can now communicate via satellite with iOS 18, expanding Apple’s satellite functionality.
– This feature can be used for everyday conversations, not just emergencies.
– When offline, a prompt on the Lock Screen or in the Messages app guides users to connect to an available satellite.
– Once connected, users can send and receive messages as usual, including Tapbacks and emoji.
– Messages are encrypted for privacy and support both iMessage and SMS messages.

Messages via Satellite allows users to stay connected even when off the grid. While iMessages can be sent and received from anyone, SMS messages are limited to emergency contacts or pre-approved family members to prevent network congestion. Additionally, RCS support is not available for Messages via Satellite due to optimization issues for satellite transmission.

This feature will be free on iPhone 14 series or newer devices starting this fall, with beta access already available. To learn more about Messages via Satellite, watch CNET’s detailed video explanation below.

Stay tuned for more updates on this innovative feature that keeps you connected no matter where you are.
