Exciting news for Rogers customers! With the recent release of iOS 18 beta 4, RCS Messaging is now available for Rogers users, as reported by several readers of iPhone in Canada.
RCS, short for Rich Communication Services, is a feature widely used by Android smartphones. This update brings richer media capabilities and delivery and read receipts to text messages sent to non-iPhone contacts. Now you can see when your messages have been delivered and read by recipients who are not using iMessage.
To enable RCS Messaging on your device after updating to iOS 18 beta 4, simply go to Settings > Messages > RCS Messaging and toggle it on. Users have confirmed that RCS Messaging is working seamlessly for Rogers customers, with features like “delivered” status notifications when sending messages to Android contacts.
Although group chats are not yet supported by RCS Messaging, this update brings a significant enhancement to your messaging experience. Share your feedback with us in the comments section below and let us know if you have noticed RCS Messaging enabled on other carriers besides Rogers, Telus, Bell, Freedom Mobile, and Videotron.
Stay tuned for more updates and enhancements as we continue to improve your communication experience. Thank you for being part of our community!
