Young People Love iPhones<\/h1>\n

Yet another confirmation that young people simply adore the iPhone has
\narrived \u2013 this time, it\u2019s the results from the latest survey from the
\ninvestment bank Piper Sandler.<\/p>\n

Apple\u2019s smartphone is the top choice for teenagers and no economic
\ndownturns apparently can change their minds and lead them on to the
\nAndroid path.<\/p>\n

For the survey, we included 9,193 teenagers across the US, aged 15.7
\nyears old. The results are as follows: 87% of US teenagers owned an
\niPhone, and 88% said they intended to buy another in the future.<\/p>\n

The previous report was in April 2023, and you can say what you will
\nabout Gen Z, but at least they\u2019re showing extreme loyalty to Apple: back
\nthen, the figures were exactly the same with 87% confirming they\u2019ve
\nowned or are owning an iPhone and 88% stating they\u2019d pay (with their own
\nmoney, right?) top dollar for another.<\/p>\n

What about the Apple Watch?<\/h2>\n

There\u2019s a difference between April to October in our reports on the
\nissue of smartwatch ownership, though. In April, 35% of the surveyed
\nteens had an Apple Watch, which was itself up from 31% in October 2022.
\nFor October 2023, the figure is down to 34% of US teenagers owning a
\nsmartwatch from Apple. If the 9,193 survey\u2019s respondents account for an
\nexact representation of the rest of US teenagers, that\u2019d mean there
\nwould be around 14 million Apple Watches in use by youngsters.<\/p>\n

Apple dominated the survey on the topic of payment apps \u2013 no surprises
\nhere. Apple Pay ranked first in the new report, with 42% of respondents
\nhaving used it in the month before they were asked.<\/p>\n

As far as AR\/VR devices go, the tendency is going up: 31% of teenagers
\nnow own a VR device, increasing from 29% in April 2023. However, actual
\nusage of VR devices declined from around 14% to around 10%. Maybe
\nthey\u2019re all waiting for the Vision Pro in 2024? Remains to be seen.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
