That being said, now\u2019s the time to talk about Google\u2019s latest encounter with the judiciary.<\/span><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Federal Judge James Donato has a plan to look deep into Google and the company may face investigation over its deleted chat history (via Android Headlines). This comes after Google\u2019s recent court adventures over allegations of monopoly in the search market and the ongoing dispute with Epic (here, the companies have been fighting over the Play Store competition issue).<\/p>\n<p>In both trials, testimony revealed that Google employees \u2013 you can count CEO Sundar Pichai in, too \u2013 had enabled an \u201cauto-delete\u201d option for internal chats on purpose. It was hinted that the purpose was to keep information out of a courtroom as evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Donato calls Google\u2019s act of destroying evidence \u201ca frontal assault on the fair administration of justice\u201d and that it \u201cundercuts due process\u201d and says he plans to pursue the matter outside the bounds of the particular trial against Epic.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m going to get to the bottom of who is responsible,\u201d Donato said when referencing Google\u2019s actions.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, Judge Donato is trying to get both Google and Epic at the table to discuss \u201cpotential settlements\u201d \u2013 something which neither company has tried to do so far.
