It\u2019s just there to be gazed upon.<\/p>\n<p>The settings are visualized properly and you can switch between options, but nothing happens according to <a class=\"external\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tarunvats33\/status\/1739888684785389800\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Tarun Vats<\/a>, who shares his experience with the \u2018Battery Protection\u2019 in a post over at X\/Twitter:<\/p>\n<div>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Toggling on battery protection just limits your battery to a maximum of 85% charge, an option that has been available for a while now, even being present in Samsung\u2019s Android 13 update.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to check the new (non-working) feature you can find it existing in the latest One UI 6.0 patches. The feature is accessible through apps that can manually launch app \u201cactivities.\u201d There are multiple ways of doing this, such as with the simply named \u201cActivity Launcher\u201d app, but the activity you\u2019ll need to turn on is listed as \u201cBatteryProtectionActivity\u201d, says the report.<\/p>\n<p>Once launched, the activity displays another menu with three options to choose from:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Basic<\/li>\n<li>Adaptive<\/li>\n<li>Maximum<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>\u201cBasic\u201d will only charge to 100% when the battery level drops down to 95%, so if you\u2019re at 97% and plug your phone, there will be no charging until it reaches 95%. This will repeat until your phone is disconnected from the charger. This provides a basic level of protection for your battery.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAdaptive protection\u201d pauses fast charging at 80% and slowly charges to 100% overnight by the time you wake up (based on your typical phone usage habits): \u201cCharging will pause at 80% while you are sleeping and finish charging to 100% just before you wake up. This provides moderate protection for people who charge their phones overnight. Sleep time is estimated based on your phone usage pattern\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaximum protection\u201d limits charging to 80%: \u201cYour battery will completely stop charging when it reaches 80% and will not resume unless the battery level drops below 80% This provides the most protection for your battery, but your tablet will be never charged higher than 80%\u201d.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can call it \u2018Protect Battery\u2019 or \u2018Battery Protection\u2019, the point is that a battery-protective mode is expected on One UI 6.1 in the next weeks with the Galaxy S24 line.
