Google is working on a new \u201cHelp me write\u201d feature for Gmail that is set to make drafting emails even easier with the help of AI. According to LeSpAndroid<\/i> (via Autorit\u00e9 Android<\/i>), this upcoming option will enable users to use their voice to draft an email or instruct the AI on what to write. Instead of dictating the text, users can speak out the prompt and Gmail\u2019s AI will craft the email for them.<\/p>\n
The process is simple \u2013 when typing a new email or replying to one, a voice typing setup will appear with a big mic button. Users can tap it, start talking, and their prompt will show up above the recording button. After finishing, users can hit \u201cCreate\u201d and Gmail will generate an email using its AI. If users decide to abandon the recording, there is a \u201cDraft email with voice\u201d button at the bottom left of the email.<\/p>\n
The exact release date for this new option is still unclear, but it is expected to first reach Workspace Labs users before being rolled out to everyone. Currently, the \u201cHelp me write\u201d feature is available in the Workspace Labs program, which allows Google to test new features with a small group of users before a widespread release.<\/p>\n
