Apple iPhone 15 Series Production Unveiled: Insights from Top Contract Manufacturers in Telecommunications

Apple relies on four contract manufacturers to assemble various iPhone models. The primary player in this lineup is Foxconn, based in Taiwan, responsible for producing 70% of the iPhone 15 units. Luxshare, a Chinese company, handles 25% of the assembly, while Tata from India takes care of the remaining 5%.

When it comes to the iPhone 15 Plus, Luxshare leads the production with 60%, followed by Pegatron from Taiwan at 35%, and Tata completing the remaining 5%. Moving on to the premium iPhone 15 Pro series, Foxconn and Pegatron take charge, assembling 70% and 30% of the models respectively. For the top-tier iPhone 15 Pro Max, Foxconn handles 70% of production while Luxshare manages the remaining 30%.

While you may be familiar with Foxconn and Pegatron, Luxshare stands out as the sole Chinese manufacturer building iPhones. Apple shows significant trust in Foxconn by assigning it a majority share of assembling the iPhone Pro series. Tata, on the other hand, is a prominent conglomerate in India with subsidiaries like Tata Motors and Tata Steel.

Looking ahead, Apple aims to relocate iPhone assembly operations out of China to mitigate political tensions and trade conflicts. Potential new production hubs include India, Vietnam (a growing tech hub), and Mexico. Regardless of the chosen location, Apple prioritizes proximity to a reliable supply chain capable of meeting its stringent component requirements.
