Samsung could release its first rollable phone by 2025

Samsung is rumored to be working on a rollable phone, according to a tech insider on Twitter. The expected release year for the first generation of this device is 2025. The leaker also mentioned some anticipated features of the rollable phone, including an improved under-display camera and a zero bezel display.

Samsung has already showcased rollable displays earlier this year, with one example being the Rollable Flex that could extend from 49mm to 254.4mm. This demonstrates Samsung’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of smartphone design.

If the rumored design for the 2025 model holds true, it would make sense for Samsung to place the under-display camera either on the left or right side of the phone. This would maximize the screen real estate and provide a seamless viewing experience.

While the first generation of the rollable phone is expected to have room for improvement, similar to Samsung’s initial foldable phone, it represents an exciting glimpse into the future of smartphone technology. It is likely that Samsung will release this device alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 in August 2025, following their usual release schedule.

As we await further details and advancements in foldable phones, it is clear that this form factor holds promise for our future. Stay tuned for more updates on Samsung’s rollable phone and its potential impact on the smartphone industry.
