Phones Canada has exciting news for all you tech enthusiasts out there! According to a recent tweet by Young on X, formerly known as Twitter, the upcoming Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9a will boast larger displays compared to their predecessors in 2023. The Pixel 8 had a 6.2-inch display, while the Pixel 8 Pro stepped it up with a 6.7-inch screen. As for the Pixel 9a, we’ll have to wait until the first half of 2024 for more details on its display size. In comparison, the Pixel 7a, which was released earlier this year, featured a 6.1-inch display.
Not to be outdone, Apple is also planning to increase the display sizes for its future iPhone models. Rumors suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will have screens measuring 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively. This would be a step up from the 6.1-inch display on the iPhone 15 Pro and the 6.7-inch screen on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The larger screen size on the iPhone 16 Pro aims to offer users 5x optical zoom with the Tetraprism periscope lens.
While Young’s tweet focuses on the Pixel 9 series, Android Authority had previously reported that Google might introduce a smaller-screened Pro model next year, similar to Apple’s approach with the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro. This could potentially expand the flagship line to include three models in 2024: Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro Max/Ultra.
Although it may seem early to discuss the Pixel 9 lineup, considering the tipster’s impressive track record, we wouldn’t bet against Young’s prediction of larger displays for the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9a. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from Phones Canada!
