WhatsApp Announces the Official Support for Multiple Accounts on a Single Device

WhatsApp Introduces Multiple Accounts Feature for All Users

Earlier this year, we informed you about WhatsApp’s testing of a convenient feature – support for multiple accounts – for its beta users. This feature is particularly helpful for individuals who have two SIM cards, one for personal use and the other for business, and now, it is being rolled out to all 2.7 billion users of WhatsApp. The official announcement states that the ability to have two accounts logged in simultaneously within the app is starting from today for both Android and iOS users.

With this new feature, users no longer have to go through the hassle of logging out every time or carry two phones. To set up a second account, you can either use a second phone number and SIM card or a phone that supports multi-SIM or eSIM. All you need to do is go to your WhatsApp settings, click on the arrow next to your name, and select “Add account”. This allows you to easily manage privacy and notification settings separately for each account.

Previously, individuals with two phone numbers had to either carry two phones or use dual apps on certain Android skins or the WhatsApp Business app on iOS, which was quite inconvenient. Therefore, the introduction of support for two accounts at once is a much-welcomed update.

WhatsApp has been continuously rolling out new features and updates. Recently, it launched the Channel feature globally and added the ability to share your screen during video calls. Additionally, the app now supports passkeys, eliminating the hassle of forgotten passwords for Android users.

WhatsApp continues to impress with its commitment to improving user experience and providing convenient features. Stay tuned for more updates and enjoy the new multiple accounts feature on WhatsApp!
