OnePlus China president, Li Jie, has expressed his admiration for the OnePlus 12 smartphone, and with its impressive specifications, it seems to have the potential to become a highly desired device. The handset is equipped with a 6.82-inch OLED display with a 2K resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It is rumored to feature a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, making it the brightest screen on any smartphone.
Under the hood, the device will be powered by the 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The camera setup is said to include a 50MP primary camera, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 64MP periscope camera with 3x optical zoom. Additionally, the OnePlus 12 is expected to come with a 5400mAh battery that supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
The device will also feature a touch input capability that accurately registers touch inputs even when the screen is wet, along with an IR blaster for controlling televisions. OnePlus’ Li highlighted the phone’s “invisible” features, such as its haptics, and the OnePlus 12 will include the world’s first Bionic Vibration Motor Turbo, providing users with a powerful vibration experience. Moreover, it will be equipped with an “ultra-thin under-screen fingerprint scanner,” leading fans to anticipate a faster and more secure ultrasonic sensor.
To address any thermal concerns, the OnePlus 12 will include the “world’s first integrated dual-cycle heat dissipation system,” which comprises a 9,140mm² vapor chamber covering an area of 38,547mm². This system aims to efficiently dissipate heat from the chipset to a cooler area of the chamber, ensuring that the device remains cool during use.
