Elden Ring, the game that took the gaming world by storm in 2022, is making its way to mobile devices. Co-written by George R. R. Martin of Game of Thrones fame, Elden Ring has received 324 ‘Game of the Year’ awards and sold over 20 million copies in just one year.
Tencent, the behemoth of the gaming industry, is reportedly working on adapting Elden Ring for mobile devices. While we await the mobile version, Elden Ring is currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
China’s Tencent acquired the licensing rights for Elden Ring from FromSoftware and put together a team to work on the mobile adaptation. The progress has been slow, but fans can expect an exciting mobile version in the future.
The game itself follows a customizable player character on a quest to repair the Elden Ring and become the new Elden Lord. Players will explore an interactive open world with six main areas using their trusty steed Torrent as their primary mode of travel. Hidden dungeons can be found throughout the world, offering valuable items for players to discover.
As for gameplay mechanics, players can use various weapons and magic spells while also utilizing stealth mechanics for non-direct engagement. Fast travel checkpoints are available throughout the game’s world, allowing players to enhance their attributes using in-game currency called runes.
While Elden Ring was initially presented as a premium game with a set price tag of $60, Tencent is considering turning it into a free-to-play game with in-app purchases similar to Genshin Impact. This move is part of Tencent’s strategy to drive strong revenue from its games.
We are eagerly anticipating more news about the development of Elden Ring for mobile devices and will keep you updated as we learn more about this highly anticipated release!
