Rivian Electric Vehicles Gain Access to Tesla’s Supercharger Network
Last year, Rivian made an exciting announcement that it would adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), allowing Rivian electric vehicle owners to access Tesla’s Supercharger network in Canada and the U.S. This partnership has now come to fruition, providing Rivian owners with even more options for fast charging on-the-go.
Here are some key points to know about Rivian’s access to Tesla’s Supercharger network:
– Rivian electric vehicle owners will receive an adapter from Rivian this spring to enable charging at select Superchargers with a built-in ‘Magic Dock’.
– The ‘Magic Dock’ technology converts Tesla charging ports to CCS, making it easier for Rivian owners to charge their vehicles.
– With this new partnership, Rivian vehicles can now tap into over 15,000 Tesla Superchargers across Canada and the U.S., enhancing the fast charging experience for customers.
– To get started at select Superchargers, Rivian owners can download the Tesla mobile app. The app will automatically unlock the ‘Magic Dock’ where available, enabling CCS compatibility for non-Tesla vehicles.
– Future Rivian vehicles like the R2 and R3 will come equipped with a native NACS port, further simplifying the charging process for owners.
