Exciting News: One UI 6.1.1 Update to Introduce Video AI Features for Samsung Devices in Canada

Samsung’s latest One UI 6.1 update introduced some impressive Galaxy AI features to select smartphones. Now, there are rumors circulating that Samsung will continue this trend with the upcoming incremental update, One UI 6.1.1.

Renowned leaker Ice Universe has revealed that Samsung is already hard at work developing One UI 6.1.1, with a potential release date as early as July 2024 alongside the unveiling of the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 foldable devices. While Samsung typically tailors these minor updates to enhance features for their foldable devices, this time around, there’s an exciting twist: Ice Universe hints at a new standout feature called “video AI.”

“Video AI” may sound somewhat mysterious, but it sparks curiosity about the possibilities it could bring to Samsung devices. One potential use could be enabling users to create videos using AI technology by inputting text descriptions or utilizing existing images as a foundation. This feature would be particularly beneficial for content creators looking to produce videos with voiceovers instead of appearing on camera.

Another intriguing possibility is that “video AI” could encompass AI-powered video editing tools that simplify complex edits like advanced object removal within Samsung’s software. For instance, it might include features like generative fill, allowing users to extend video frames and seamlessly fill in background elements to create an illusion of being elsewhere.

Similar techniques have been employed using AI tools like Adobe Firefly and Canva, combining static images with keyframing in video editing software for creative effects. It wouldn’t be surprising to see a similar concept implemented on-device for shorter videos using Samsung’s technology.

As Samsung typically unveils its foldable devices in July, we may witness the debut of One UI 6.1.1 alongside these new releases. Meanwhile, anticipation is building for One UI 7 later in the year when Android 15 becomes available.

The question remains whether current Samsung smartphones will receive a taste of “video AI” through the One UI 6.1.1 update or if this feature will be reserved for the upcoming One UI 7 release. Additionally, given that Samsung’s AI advancements stem from Google’s Gemini model, we might catch glimpses of this collaboration during Google I/O next month.

Stay tuned for more updates on how Samsung continues to integrate innovative AI features into its smartphone lineup!
