Apple is once again ready to dominate the tablet market with its upcoming iPad Pro lineup. The tablets were originally rumored to be powered by the M3 chip, but it now seems like Apple has something even more powerful up its sleeve – the M4 chip.
According to Mark Gurman’s latest newsletter on Bloomberg’s Power On, there is a “strong possibility” that the iPad Pro will be equipped with the new M4 chip. This chip, succeeding the M3 released just five months ago, is said to come with AI processing capabilities that will set a new standard for performance.
The M4 chip is expected to feature a new neural engine and advanced AI capabilities, positioning the iPad Pro as Apple’s first truly AI-powered device. This move aligns with industry trends where AI-focused products are gaining popularity, and Apple doesn’t want to be left behind in this race.
The unveiling of the new iPad Pro is set for May 7 during the “Let Loose” event, where Apple will also introduce new accessories like an Apple Pencil with haptic feedback. By introducing an AI-focused product before the June Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple can easily discuss its push into AI during the event and highlight how the M4 chip will benefit from AI features in iPadOS 18 later this year.
In addition to the powerful M4 chip, rumors suggest that the upcoming iPad Pro lineup will also feature an OLED display. If these speculations hold true, Apple’s new tablet will undoubtedly outperform its competition. With M3 chip-powered devices already benchmarking higher than top Android tablets, it’s exciting to imagine just how much faster and efficient the new iPad Pro will be.
Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking release from Apple as they continue to push boundaries in technology and innovation.
