WhatsApp is constantly testing new features to enhance user experience, and the good news is that many users can access these new functionalities by joining the beta program. One exciting new feature being tested will make it easier for users to find stickers and sticker packs within WhatsApp.
Recently spotted by WABetaInfo, this feature introduces a text field to the sticker keyboard, allowing users to search for stickers from the dedicated store simply by typing in what they are looking for. This functionality works for both individual stickers and packs, making it convenient for users to discover and use stickers.
Currently, this new feature has only been observed in the Android version of WhatsApp beta. Specifically, it can be found in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.11.5. However, since it is still under development, beta testers may not see this feature immediately.
The ability to search for stickers is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing efforts to highlight stickers as a key feature of the app. In previous updates, WhatsApp introduced shortcuts for creating new stickers, enabling users to create personalized and AI-powered stickers easily.
It is expected that this newly discovered sticker-related feature will be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks as it does not appear to be overly complex to implement. Hopefully, this feature will be available on both iOS and Android platforms soon.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting development within WhatsApp!
