Spotify Increases Prices for Premium Subscribers in the US
Spotify, the popular music streaming service, recently announced a price increase for new and existing Premium subscribers in the US. The Individual plan will now cost $11.99 USD, up from $10.99.
Here are Spotify’s updated plans in the US:
– Individual: $11.99 (previously $10.99)
– Duo: $16.99
– Family: $19.99
– Student: $5.99
This isn’t the first time Spotify has raised prices in the US and Canada. Last July saw a similar increase, and now another hike is hitting users in the US.
According to Spotify, these price adjustments are necessary to support ongoing investments and innovations in product features that enhance user experience.
As of now, this pricing change only applies to the US market. Canadian users can breathe a sigh of relief as Spotify confirmed that today’s news does not affect pricing in Canada… yet.
In Canada, Spotify’s pricing remains unchanged:
– Individual: CA$10.99/month
– Student: CA$5.99/month
– Duo: CA$14.99/month
– Family: CA$16.99/month
Earlier this year, Spotify warned that regulatory changes like the Streaming Act could lead to price increases in Canada. To combat these potential changes, Spotify teamed up with Canadian musician Bryan Adams for a campaign against the Streaming Act.
Stay tuned for any updates on pricing changes in Canada as Spotify continues to navigate evolving regulations and market conditions to provide an exceptional music streaming experience for its users nationwide.
