AT&T to Raise Legacy Plan Prices in August: Following T-Mobile’s Lead

AT&T to Increase Pricing on Legacy Plans in August

AT&T is following in T-Mobile’s footsteps by announcing a price hike for its legacy plan subscribers. According to a support page from AT&T, the carrier is increasing the monthly charge on most retired unlimited wireless plans to provide additional benefits and maintain great wireless service for customers. Subscribers can expect to see the price change reflected on their August bill.

Here are some key points to note about the price increase:

– Single-line service plans will see a $10 per month increase.
– Plans with multiple lines will see a total increase of $20 per month, not a per line increase.

However, subscribers who choose to stay on their current plan and pay the higher bill will receive additional high-speed data and hotspot data benefits. Here’s what they can expect:

– AT&T Unlimited Choice, Choice II, Choice Enhanced, Unlimited &More, and Unlimited Value plans will now include 75GB of high-speed data and 30GB of hotspot data.
– AT&T Unlimited Plus, Plus Enhanced, Unlimited &More Premium, and AT&T Unlimited (with TV) plans will now include 100GB of high-speed data and 60GB of hotspot data.
– Subscribers with connected car plans will maintain their current high-speed data benefits without receiving any hotspot data.

Despite the price hike, subscribers will still enjoy unlimited talk, text, and data in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. They will also continue to benefit from AT&T ActiveArmor mobile security protection against scammers and fraudsters.

For those considering canceling their AT&T service due to the price increase, the support page provides a phone number (800.331.0500) to call. However, be prepared for an account review and possibly a sales pitch for one of AT&T’s current unlimited plans when you call.

Overall, while this price hike may be disappointing for some legacy plan subscribers, it comes with added benefits that aim to enhance the overall wireless experience with AT&T.
